35mm focal length is close to the natural human angle of vision, allowing the camera to capture the scene as the creator sees it. f/1.4 maximum aperture gives a rich bokeh effect and lets you create videos and images where the subject appears to emerge from the background.

High image quality from the centre to the edges of the frame. Colour aberration is optimally corrected by the two UD lenses, while two GMo aspheric lenses suppress spherical aberration and image distortion.

Electronic floating focus control

Canon's first RF lens to use a VCM (Voice Coil Motor) in combination with a Nano USM to achieve electronic floating focus control. The high-thrust VCM actuates the heavy focusing lens group, while a compact, energy-saving Nano USM actuates the lightweight floating lens to deliver fast, reliable and quiet autofocus.

Focus Breathing Control

The RF 35mm f/1.4L VCM offers stable video compositions with extremely little focus breathing. The combination of VCM and Nano USM actuators, thoroughly suppresses breathing in all focus positions optically, meaning that this lens can be used for shooting videos with extremely stable composition, even together with a camera body that doesn't have any electronic breathing correction function.
